Sam Fender has handed over the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound honor cash to the trust for venues, which functions to preserve the United Kingdom's small concert spaces.

He was given the award on October 16 as his latest record the album was declared the outstanding release of the previous year.

The musician has opted to hand the money over to the MVT, in appreciation of the vital role local spots played in his beginning days.

"I would not have achieved this success if it hadn't been for all the gigs I did around the area, and elsewhere, when I was beginning," stated Sam Fender. "These venues are renowned, but they are facing challenges."

From early 2023 onward, at least 150 of these spaces have ceased operations – roughly 16% of the total UK scene.

In the last year, major artists such as the band Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all backed the MVT in its initiatives to keep the scene afloat, by applying a modest fee to their admission fees, which supports local stages.

Fender also took part, collecting in excess of £100,000 on his live tour to support numerous small stages across England, Scotland, and Wales.

The money assisted venues that were dealing with potential shutdown due to issues stemming from flooding, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as permit problems, legal disputes and neighbor objections.

Other venues obtained financial assistance in improving facilities and sound and lighting systems that helped artists and fans.

"The notion that money from concerts in big venues supports the smaller venues, where it all starts for musicians like me, is just logical," the star has stated.
